Jesse & Damian | Dreamy Island Wedding | Chebeague Island Maine
Last year Jesse asked if I could co-photograph her wedding with Gabrielle, her soon-to-be-sister-in-law, and obviously I said yes. I’ve known the McClain family for almost 10 years, and they have made me feel like such a part of their family and this weekend was no different. I met Jesse when she and Damian were just starting to flirt about, and it was such an honor to witness the official welcoming of Jesse into the giant McClain clan.
Jesse grew up spending her summers on a tiny little island off the coast of Portland, Maine, in a cabin from the early 1900s. It sits right on top of the beach, with the most incredible view of sail boats floating by, and the sun setting on the horizon. The island is so small that we walked everywhere, and when we needed a ride we’d hop in the back of a pick-up and sail down the road like we were all little kids again. There was no Wi-Fi, hardly any cell service, and a whole bunch of barefoot kids riding bikes back and forth, having the time of their lives.
Jesse and Damian have traveled across the world together, and it only made sense that they would travel for their wedding as well. They invited their closest family and friends to celebrate with them in the front yard of the summer house, and to party and eat lobster until the stars stopped twinkling.
This wedding includes an incredible dress with a cape that looks like butterfly wings, all the groomsmen running into the ocean in their boxers, glow-in-the-dark hula hoops, the most dramatic bridal entrance you ever did see, and a meteor shower.
